Hannah Meissner
Steering Committee
My name is Hannah Meissner, and I am a woman in long-term recovery with more than eight years of hands-on professional experience in the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) field.
My career has been grounded in professional training, the use of my personal lived experience, and my commitment to harm reduction advocacy. As a Certified Prevention Specialist, Recovery Coach, Recovery Mentor, and Youth Recovery Coach, I’ve supported a variety of individuals and communities through person-centered education, recovery support, and health equity outreach initiatives.
My work has included direct engagement with diverse and underserved populations, including at‐risk youth, the unhoused community, returning citizens, and those newly entering recovery pathways.
Additionally, I have experience working directly with state and national organizations to help bridge harm reduction and recovery, emphasizing the importance of integrating both approaches to strengthen public health responses and reduce stigma at local, state, and national levels.
