Adam Viera
Dr. Viera is a nationally recognized expert in designing and implementing community-based interventions for substance use and syndemic health issues.
With over twenty years of experience, he has worked across public health to promote evidence-based, inclusive service delivery. After obtaining his Master of Public Health from Columbia University, he spent more than fifteen years providing training and technical assistance to organizations aiming to expand their capacity to serve individuals affected by substance use.
Holding a PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Yale University, Dr. Viera led research initiatives focused on scalable interventions for substance use and syndemic health issues. His recent work includes developing and testing a mobile application to support individuals with alcohol and opioid use disorders. Previously serving as co-director of the Peer Recovery Center of Excellence, he currently functions as an independent consultant and researcher and participates in national leadership through the National Steering Committee for the Center for Addiction Recovery Support.
